You do NOT get too many benefits from running.
In fact it has a lot of disadvantages and walking with a heart rate of about 120-130 bpm would be way better than running.

Yes, but only if you are getting your heart rate up enough. Walking at a steep incline can do this just as effectively as running. If you walk briskly at a steep incline, you can sometimes get more benefit than from running. Hiking is great. Push yourself and make sure you are getting that heart rate up and feeling like you are exercising.

WELL OBVIOUSLY RUNNING WOULD BE MORE STRENUOUS , THE WAY TO DETERMINE THE BENEFITS YOU ARE GETTING FROM ONE EXERCISE OR ANOTHER , IS TO SEE HOW MUCH YOUR HEART RATE GOES UP WHEN YOU DO EACH , AND MAKE A COMPARISON........BUT ON THE TWO YOU HAVE MENTIONED , RUNNING IS ALSO ALOT HARDER ON YOUR KNEES AND JOINTS THAN WALKING WOULD BE......SO YOU NEED TO CONSIDER THE GOOD AND THE BAD POSSIBILITIES OF THE EXERCISE AS WELL...GOOD LUCK , STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY...HAVE A GREAT DAY !.....GR1M

Not really, well depends on what you're goal is, if it's to loose weight then running has a better benefit, but it's hard on the knees especially if you have arthritic knees, but if you're just trying to keep your circulation in tact, then walking is fine

Yes and no. If you ran for 15 minutes you'd burn more calories than if you walk for 15 minutes. However if you walk for 2 hours and run for 15 minutes you'll probably burn more calories walking for 2 hours. The whole point of cardio excercise is to burn calories. So if you want to burn more calories, run instead of walking.

Depends upon your fitness level, what you are looking to accomplish and the general state of your knees, back and ankles

That having been said, walking is certainly better than nothing

You would have to walk a much longer distance than you would if you were running, because running is more high-paced and makes you sweat more and all.
