Please add sources if you can.

Replica tapes are never as good as the original. The cells in your body, however, are quite adept at replicating themselves, for a while, with relatively insigificant loss in their integrity during the first third of your life, providing, of course, you live a healthy life style and consume all the required nutrients to support this process. But eventually there comes a point when even the cells cannot sustain themselves for very much longer. This is due to the metabolic activity of your body, and to a lesser extent, the shortening of the telomeres of the cells. E.g. slow moving creatures like tortoises live very long lives, whereas cats and dogs enjoy a much shorter life, with us in between.

Eventually your body can longer put up a defence - against cancer, against infections, trauma, etc - and you die.

People never die from old age. Old Age is not a disease. There is always another cause - e.g. heart problems, etc

The same reason as your car will not last forever.

Yes the body repairs its self; but the system to regulate the repairing get old.
Your body ability to regulate its self gets old; and the regulator of the repair of bad regulator get deregulated by age.

The whole organism generally tires out and dies.

One of the best books for laypeople on this subject is "How We Die" by Dr. Sherwin Nuland. Check it out, it's really interesting.

You expire just like a hard commodity. General break down. Like all finite things. Not hard to understand. Highly observable too.
