I have really bad (probably medical grade) acne, almost every skin pore on my face has a small white pimple under the skin, these all gradually get bigger and then swell up. I also have Crohn's disease (auto immune digestive disease). The stuff my doctor gave me was useless and I have tried Vilantae and Exposed skin care kit off of the net. None of this has made even the slightest difference, are there any products that work or what help can I get? as having acne makes life hell!

I would much appreciate any helpful help!

Because I have Crohn's disease, I have to leave out Wheat and Milk (from any animal) from my diet, as I am very allergic to them and have been for nearly a decade.

I do eat healthily compared to most and have stuck with the products Iv'e tried so far for longer than their 'garaunteed' period.

Thanks so far for your help!

Hi There

Here are some answer to help you cure your condition.

Causes
Crohn's disease can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor diet and nutrition, food allergies, imbalanced levels of hydrochloric acid, impaired immunity, infections, lack of exercise, "leaky gut" syndrome, pharmaceutical drugs, and stress.

Quick Action Plan for Crohn's Disease
1. Diet is of primary importance. Avoid all sugars, refined flour products, and carbohydrates, milk and dairy products, processed foods that contain preservatives and artificial sweeteners, alcohol, hydrogenated and trans-fatty oils, as well as foods that are common allergens.

2. Emphasize organic, fresh vegetables and non-citrus fruits, organic grains, as well as organic, free-range meats and poultry and wild-caught fish.

3. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.

4. Enema containing butyric acid two to five times a week. (Add one tablespoon of butyric acid to one quart of warm water.)

5. Supplements with vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc, taken with a multivitamin/multimineral formula. Essential fatty acids, especial omega-3 oils, are also recommended.

6. Stress reduction through the use of various mind/body medicine techniques, such as biofeedback, hypnotherapy, meditation and relaxation exercises.

7. If you smoke, stop and if you are currently taking aspirin or other NSAIDs, consider replacing them with safer, more effective natural remedies.

8. Soothing baths two to five nights and alternating hot and cold water packs placed over the stomach and upper abdomen.

9. Juice remedies include aloe juice; wheatgrass juice; cabbage, papaya, and carrot juice; and carrot, beet, and cucumber juice.

10. Juice of half a lemon with warm water, especially in the morning.

11. Allow yourself to receive emotional support to help you embrace some of the common underlying issues identified with Crohn's, such as abandonment, anger, disappointment and rage, which often settle in the gut. Seek out a therapist or other skilled practitioner that can guide you through emotional healing work.

Best of health to you.

Cheers

I believe you need an oral supplement along with an external system. Have you been to actual dermatologist or did you visit your regular doc? Any derma should be able to help you with this problem. I have heard good things about differen gel. However, whenever you start a new external product, your acne always gets worse before it gets better. I have heard good things about Arbonne products. However, I do not know the active ingredient in that product or the ones you have used. For example, if you tried products with benzoyl product, you might try something with salcylic acid (much gentler treatment) or vise versa. Once you start a product you should at least stick with it for a few months and then measure the results. Switching products all of the time is only going to wreak havoc on your skin. Also, up you water intake. If you already drink your 8 glasses a day, drink 12. Water helps. Don't touch skin, ever unless in the act of washing it. Don't "pop" pimples as this equals scars and introduces more bacteria and damage to the surrounding pores.
Good luck!!

I know, being a teen is rough sometimes! But you shouldn't give up! What I'm going to do it give you a bunch of recommendations. Now, these products and tips I'm going to give you are not pricey nor hard to keep up with so no worries. 1. Drink lots of water, and I mean lots! Water keeps skin hydrated and keep your skin clear. + also try drinking green tea ! 2. Exercise! Just trust me ;) 3. Don't eat or drink greasy/sugary things. At least keep it on the down low because those foods make your skin oily and break out easily and fast. Avoid pop, candy, fried foods and fast food. 5. Wash your face no more than 2 times a day. In the morning and before you go to bed. 6. Try wearing makeup no longer than 8 hours a day. 7. DON'T touch your face or pick on it. On your fingers and in your nails there are lots of germs and bacteria that may affect your face when touched. 8. When treating acne try more natural remedies at home. Don't go for the chemically filled products - they don't work well and dry out your skin. 9. Stress level must go down. Many people breakout because of stress. 10. Accept it and accept yourself! If you have a bit of acne, it wont be there forever and lots of people your age have it! You're not the only one ! Here are products that I use: I had some body breakouts and I used : BODY CLEAR® Body Wash Pink Grapefruit by Neutrogena and Neutrogena Body Clear Body Spray which worked really well. For my face I use : Clean and Clear advantage blackhead clearing astringent and tea tree skin clearing foaming cleanser which is from the Body Shop in Canada, so if you live in Canada your in luck if you want to get it. Otherwise, try getting something natural and/or oil-free. Exfoliating (you should do like 3 times a week) : Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub Mask (twice a week) : Honey and Oat 3-in-1 scrub mask from The Body Shop . Find a mask that will work for you ! All masks work pretty well. I like the one I used because it cleanses, polishes and moisturizes. For healing acne scars : I use vitamin E oil for it fades scars and promotes faster healing. *Hope this works for you! If it doesn't work the way you wished, consider visiting a dermatologist ! GOOD LUCK!

I would strongly recommend talking with a dermetologist, as regular doctors don't always know what to do about acne. It might be possible that you have acne rosacea.

Acne Rosacea is a skin disorder that shows up on the middle part of the face. The areas of the face around the nose, forehead and chin become reddened and can be full of pimples. Acne rosacea usually occurs in adults between the ages of 30 to 50 and affects adults who usually have fair skin. In the areas of the face that acne rosacea affects, the small blood vessels become enlarged and visible.

There is more information about this at http://www.theknowguide.com/acne-12.html

If this is not the case, it sounds like a biological problem, something that cannot be easily treated wtih face creams. You would have to take some perscripton medicine. Again, you should talk with a dermetologist.

OK lets be real, acne's a b**** and it's the worst thing to get over but its not impossible. The best thing out there for it right now is Acutane, but, it is not for everyone that's why it is only obtained by a Dr's prespription. Some people tend to be allergic to the medicine, for a few percentage it does not work for, but usually it does, for everyone, even though after you stop using it the acne comes back, like with every other medicine after the treatment is over. It is really harsh on your body though, for women they can't take contraceptives or have kids due to some serious problems that can occur while taking it, other people experience horrible peeling and dryness.

Apart from all this, i used to have acne, apparently not bad enough for Acutane (according to my dermatologist) but it was still bad (at least i thought it was), so i was recommended this over the counter medicine called "Nature's Cure". They have two medicines, one formulated for men, and another for women, and among these they have the topical creams and face washes as well as pills that work from the inside out. I personally tried the cream and face wash. Since i started using it i have yet gotten another pimple, seriously, my face is progressing miraculously, alot of the blemishes are gone, almost all. Smooth skin, it does dry it a little bit but barely, everyone's complimented on it. A few more weeks and my face will be completely clear. To help with this i also get facials done, everyonce in a while to help with the deep cleaning, which helps alot to remove stubborn clogs and blackheads and so forth.

I know not all of these over the counter medicines work for everyone, like myself that i've tried Proactive and Murad and all those things and i actually got my face worse due to them. But this one worked, see if you can find it in a neighborhood pharmacy or drugstore, or supermarket (which some of them also sell them), or online in their website.

About a diet, the main cause of acne is not your diet, eating chocolate or drinking too much soda, it's an old wife's tale, BUT a good diet will prevent excess oils in the skin which will clog pores and cause breakouts.

The main cause of acne are your body's hormones, we can't fix those with a change in diet. For me i go to the gym about 5 days a week, and excercise, this helps your metabolism break fatty acids that may affect your hormone production, as well as providing an overall well being for the body and get you nice and fit, a little blood to the old pump is sometimes the best remedy for current health problems as well as future undeveloped ones.

Stress is another factor that people a lot of the time don't consider, it does affect your acne because too much stress will trigger hormone production in the body and well you know the rest. Try to take life easily, i know sometimes it's hard but you gotta try, for my stress, excercise wipes it all out, and it usually does for a lot of people so think about it.

Well i hope this helps you and good luck with what ever you end up trying.

This has worked miracles for both me and a good friend of mine:
Completely avoiding dairy.
Not only does this completely clear up her and my acne, but we both have a lot more energy!
Seriously, what do you have to lose? There are lots of soy alternatives to everything dairy, and your health and self-esteem are so much more important than eating a certain type of food.
