am I the only person mourning the lack of effort made in this country when going to social events, theatre, dinner dances, even restuarants?
I once saw two woman in shorts, sneakers and t-shirts at a dinner dance evening (and they were drinking pints)...doesn't anybody care anymore

It's not called freedom of choice...it's called insulting the host, fellow guests, chef whatever

Babes, you are welcome to voice your opinion, same as anyone else. Wear what you like for it:)

I soooo agree with you. People have become so oblivious of how they impact other people by their rudeness. I call it SOCIAL RETARDATION.

Sorry to say that I agree , people just don't bother.I ran a pub for a while and women drinking pints was commonplace.Equality is all well and good, but men don't like to be drunk under the table by a 19 year old female student. Sad to say this is the rule rather than the exception these days.

I totally agree! It galls my sense of decorum when I see people (young AND old) arriving for church in blue jeans, shorts, belly-baring tight knit tops, etc. AND, the fact that men and boys no longer feel it necessary to remove their hats when they enter a building OR when they're eating a meal is appalling!
It is truly offensive to see people not dress appropriately at all times. But then, those are the same people who don't seem to know about ANY of the social skills.

It is extremely rare that my husband I get to go out these days because we have two small children but when we do we try to dress for the occassion so don't despair some of us do care but get the chance to show it so rarely it is missed. Incidentaly thats also because we care about our responsibilities for our children and don't use child care.

I care for me. I do welcome the freedom that people feel, but I would like them to feel the sense of pride and self-worth that looking your best can bring, without being shackled by it.

I don't particularly care. I've definitely noticed that everyone has become a lot more casual... but I like being casual so it doesn't bother me.

Same goes for church attire. People just don't care as much as they used to.
