Unfortunately I fear that folks in general are just vicious and stupid enough that, if religion is eradicated, they will just find some other trivial thing to kill each other over.

I would not use the word "eradicate". Religions are a crutch to those who cannot stand on their own feet and think for themselves.

"Rational Spirituality" was conveyed only in February 2006, and is already a major force amongst the thinking people. One day, sooner than you believe, it will replace the religions with the sheer power of its logical argument. Then, there will be no religious antagonism any more. And the warlords will have to come out with their true colours: Namely, that all the "religious" wars were only for greed, influence and money.

Unless you read "Rational Spirituality" already, you can access it on the Dhaxem website.

Shouldn't the question be Is it important? Religions are not the cause, nor the cure for world peace. It all begins with personal repsonsibility. And the more greed, avarice and other ignoble traits of man's inhumanity, the more we will have lack of peace. Why put the blame with the group they associate with when it is the individual who is at fault?

The idea is that people won't have a reason to kill...but there are still some who will find something
BTW, isn't China trying to do away with religion in that country but they're still dealing with angry people who want to kill for power? (Halfway sincere question)

Because religions are BY DEFINITION about claiming to have THE Truth, and spreading it as such. And if all religions claim the same about their different truths, it's almost inevitable that someone will want to kill you to defend THEIR truth.

If you get rid of religions, it will do not good. It is not religion that causes war--it is people who want power and wealth. They just often use religion as an excuse.

It's not. That's why secular governments (that allow freedom of religion) are the most succesful and long lasting.
