I mean, really, honestly. You really think so?

I should've added this before. Now, think about this carefully. Don't go by what you see at the mall and the stores, alright? The stats, govo reports, security, etc. ( Thanks. )

I don't think digital will ever replace film. There are different kinds of film. Regular film can be used to produce effects with light that is impossible with digital. Also most digital cameras have a very serious flaw to professionals, even in the most expensive ones do not show accurate perspective so the persons or things have a bit of a "flat" look. Lastly, "thick" film, film with multiple levels of photochemicals, produce a resolution so fine that you could take a picture of a ship half a mile out to sea and blow it up so you can get an accurate picture of someone holding up a dime and you would swear that the photo of the dime was taken up close. The extra layers of photochemicals gives a resolution which pixels on a screen can't create. The "thick" film makes blowing up small little details possible so with a zoom lense or even with a regular 35 mm lense, you can take a "good" picture of a far away object or a very small object and in the dark room crop the picture on the exact size you want, still have enough "light" in the film to not get a darkened effect and the resolution is good enough to sell the picture to a magazine.

Digital can never replace film. There are many things that can be only done with film. Anyway, technology is always changing. The memory cards and software in the future, 10, 20, or 30 years from now will be different from the ones today. No one will be able to see today's digital images. Ten, 20, or 30 years from now, people will be able to see today's film photographs. We can see photographs taken 100 years ago. People can use digital, but their images will not be able to be viewed years from now. Film photos will be viewed years from now.

I haven't used film in 2 years and I shoot weddings every weekend. Film is good but I can get just as great pictures with digital. Film will always be here but more and more will be using digital.

Absolutely. As the lag time between the shutter and writing to the memory card decreases, I think the photographers who are holding out will move to digital.

I think so.
Even Kodak thinks so and is putting more effort into their printing of digital photos than printing from film in stores.
reading photography magazines each month more and more pro photographers are going all digital on their assignments.
even the little junky one-use cameras are coming out digital now.
