I work as a wildlife biologist and often run into bobcats while I am out working. A while back I ran into a female with a baby and she actually growled at me. This was a first, as they usually just run from me. Guess she thought I was a real threat! She did run after she growled. I took some really nice pictures of her tracks after her and the baby left. Could'nt manage to get my camera out while she was standing there growling though...that would have been a nice picture.

There are a lot in South Georgia too. Our highschool football team is called the Bobcats, actually. They are small but very powerful, and they are beautiful animals.

We have lots of Bobcats, in East TX. This is not really to funny.
But one night I heard a little kitten, I had abandoned, and make a bed for on my porch, just squalling. I went out and a Bobcat had gotten a hold of him. I know it was a Bobcat because he was standing about 4 foot away. The kitten had been bit, and he was paralyzed, he drug himself around, we had to put him out of his misery.
They are very beautiful, but mean and will attack a helpless animal.
