everyone is getting bobs, and i wouldnt mind one. but my hair is very thick so i dont want it to look like a wedge.
how would i get it ultra sleek? are bobs old fashioned?

Bobs have come back into fashion now. Your hair is thick, so alot of weight may need to be taken out to help you manage your hair. A wedge will be nice because you can get away with having more choppy layers. The best thing to do is ask your stylist, and they should advice you on what is best suited for you! Get yourself a good pair of straighteners too, they'll be needed if you want your hair to be 'ultra sleek'. A smoothing shampoo will also help manage your hair.

It depends- is your hair thick AND curly, or just thick? If it's curly, don't do it!!!!!! You will end up looking less like a fashionista and more like Napoleon Dynamite. If it's just thick, it could look really cute, like Catherine Zeta-ones in Chicago, remember her bob? She's got some thick hair on her and she looked great! To get it sleek, you'd want to run about a dime-sized amount of smoothing serum (try Frizz-Ease) through it when it's still wet, then hold your blow-dryer about 8 inches from your scalp while combing it down with a flat brush that is specifically made for thick hair. Don't try to blow-dry it upside down or it will pop out on the sides!! After you're done drying it, try to run some pomade through it, concentrating on the ends, not the roots (or it will look greasy and too flat). I think you'll look cute!

I think that bobs look sleek, you need a good hairdresser to get the right style for you face. Ive always been a big fan of bobs...

bobs are actually better if u have thick hair!
so many people would die for thick hair!
go for it! its such a good look at the mo and wont take as long to grow out as the really short fashionable hair cuts!
Ive had long thick hair all my life (23 years) and never wanted it cut. now Ive had a long bob haircut and Ive never had so many compliments! best thing Ive ever done. i look so much more stylish now! :)

think about an angled bob. i have thick hair too, and unless you get the ends tapered you WILL look like a wedge.
bobs dont have to be short. you can get a shoulder length bob, that will keep some length, yet you'll have that style you were looking for

Stacked bobs are really cute, especially for thick hair. A good flat iron will get the look that you want.

If you can get the right cut it would look good. I have thick hair and I either have to go real short (neckline) or long.
I like longer better. Remember it will grow back, in a year or so !!! And there are some great wigs out there.

Bobs are in and look really cute. Ask your hair stylist to taper, especially in the back so it will blend and not be a blunt cut. I think they look better with thicker hair! Go for it!

Okay, you can be a sheep and look like everyone else. Thick hair in a bob won't look good.

i went to get a bob a few weeks ago and they explained to me that because my hair was so thick the shorter i cut it, the worse it would scrunch up and curl up, and wouldnt look right, and then again it might suit ya depending on ur face shape!!!!! just look through a few magazines, and see which hairstyle would suit both ur hair and face!!!!!! or even try a few websites!!!! g'dluck
