We get along well, we make a point to say hi to eachother and smile and have small talk sometimes. I've emailed a few neutral nice things to her and she has replied..
She's 24 but we seem to have a lot in common and she is quite independent.
I'm hesitant on asking her out.. is it worth a try?

Yes, because you have to find out if she is worth getting to know. You seem like you like her, so you should ask her out. It doesn't have to be really romantic or just really friendly date friendly, it's just worth going after if you really like her. Age really shouldn't matter in this sense, unless she feels threatened by dating older guys. Most women like older guys, but then there are some who just feel comfortable in their own age range. As long as you see the connection, then it's worth it. She could be the one for you, but you are nervous about finding out or vice versa, she could like you, but wants you to approach her first. If you don't ask, then she might find another guy to go out with because you were hesitant. Do what's best for you.

You're 36 old but it sounds like you've done everything but pass her notes in study hall. You say hi, smile, make small talk and email her neutral things which suggests to me the age thing isn't the only concern you have here. She's not 18, she's 24 and independent. What's the worse that could happen if you ask her out. I think you're hesitant to find out if she's willing to consider you as more than a casual friend. I think you're hesitant because you figure she's going to shoot you down on dating deal.

Whatsamatta, honey? You can't find a mature woman in your own age group? Yea, she'd probably go out with you and sooner or later, you're going to realize she's not as bright as you would have hoped for; she's not as mature as you would like or she's whiney and clingy. Twelve years make a huge difference in the life of a woman. And there's always the chance that she might meet a "hot" younger guy...and she will, then you'll get dumped. I'd say stop leading her on and look for a real woman. Godloveya.

You just described my boyfriend and I. He was a little hesitant about asking me out but after talking and flirting for several weeks he finally asked. We went out and had a great time and have been dating ever since (7 months). I say if you really like this girl go for it. What do you have to lose?

I would say go for it. I know a few couples who are 10 - 12 years apart.

I say go for it. The worst thing that could happen is that she could turn you down. My boyfriend is 14 years older than me, but I wouldn't trade him for anything.

Age is just a number unless she doesn't want your old balls slapping her butt at night then it is a problem.

If you have money and buy her stuff and a good penis. Then yes, she will go for it.

Have fun.
