i was whipped with a belt when i was younger and i think it helped a lot, i mean id never hit my kids with a belt, because it hurt like hell, but in a sense i think establishing a sense of whos boss is neccessary sometimes.. Like if my kids do something that is dangerous and can hurt themself or another i spank their *** and put them in a time out, i dont see how thats wrong, They go in regular time out way to often, I think spanking should be used when the situation involves danger. Go ahead make your "your a horrible person comments"... i just wunna hear what the majority thinks.

i dont htink i need parenting classes so much, its just that my husband works and i stay home so he thinks its all my job to control everything and being at home for 4 years and never getting out really takes a toll on you emotionally, im fed up, is more like it.

I was spanked, my parents were spanked, my grandparents were spanked. We all turned out great.
My husband on the other hand, was never told no, or spanked. He was a horrible child. lol.
Spanking has its place, and its time. And it shouldnt be considred child abuse unless its done out of anger towards the child. You beat their butts becaus you love them and want a better life for them then that of a hooligan that has to respect for rules or authority.
The problem today is not enough kids are spanked, and now theyre entering into the adult world and we have to put up with their crap.

I think spanking is not good at all because that can hurt a child and that is like child abuse, so if they like do something bad you should just try to explain to them and say no or just put them in time-out and another way that is good just take something away from them because spanking really can upset the child and i don't think that is good at all.

For really bad butt kids, hell go by what measure you think is necessary. Do not beat them senseless, though. When spank a child because they are doing something wrong only teaches them if they see someone doing wrong to hit them. If that is the lesson someone wants to teach their child then go ahead. But if you sit down and talk to them and tell them what they did wrong and why it is bad they will not do it again. My son is 17 months old and he does not even understand fully what I tell him but that is what I do. Hope it helps.

I totally agree. Nothing wrong with a good spanking every now and then. By the way, spanking are very legal, pending on where you live. but US and Canada it's OK.

Because they hurt!! I know i am 12 and still get spanked if i mess up bad but not with a belt or anething but i get more then just a slap i cry everytime my mother give me one! I think sometimes is fair and sometimes isnt fair but i dont think it abuse like one girl i know whos dad used punch her that waz worst! Nothing like that ever happen 2 me.
I still love my family much and i guess it ok give spanks if you kid deserve it but noone like get hurt that Y people think it bad.

I have spanked when the kids have been not listened and behaved dangerously.
I think the problem is when adults beat their kids while they are angry then it becomes a release of anger not discipline.

yes its fine to spank but not beat i was spanked and one time my friend snuck out to go to the movies with me and her dad found out took her to the bahtroom and spancked her.
