I forgot the date of my dads birthday. I know it is coming up I just cannot remember the day. should I come out and ask him or what. Ihave never remembered. Around this time I call everyday and I get lucky sometimes. He turns 50 this year and I dont want to hurt his feelings.

teese him saying, "so...when`s your birthday old man, i`m getting to old to remember" then if he says it say, "i`m just kidding, i would NEVER forget your birthday" or ask a family member.

Just ask which day of the week his birthday is on this year like you just don't have a calendar in front of you. You can figure it out from there. Don't forget you could ask grandma if she's still around.

do u have any bros or sisters! if so then ask them and if not then just ask him what day(as in sunmday, monday etc.). Then he will just think that know the date but forgot what day. then u can figure out what the date is. i hope that helps.

ask someone close to him who would know: your mother, his wife or girlfriend (if either of these apply), an aunt or uncle.
If he grew up in the same town as you, you can also look through microfilms of newspapers from 1956, looking for a birth notice.
