Okay, i've posted the same type of thing at least 3 or 4 times ( lol ) and i still can not get it.

Okay, i burned a dvd from my computer and yes, i have a dvd burner on there. When i went into my room to play it on my dvd player, it wouldn't work and said "disc read error. Playback may not be available on this disc."

So after 10 minutes of looking for the stupid owners manual, i found out that my dvd player only plays dvd-video, dvd-rw, dvd-r, dvd+rw, and dvd+r; Lucky for me, i used a dvd+r disc and for some reason, it didn't work.

When i began looking through the manual, it says something about "not playing discs recorded in vr (video recording) format." and i have no idea what that means.

SO, if someone can help me out, i'd finally be able to stop wasting points by asking a hundred questions :)

ooh. I think i know why it's not working. It says that the dvd player can't play DVD-ROM discs and i opened up my computer and it says the disc i have in is a dvd-rom disc.....is there anyway i can change that? or is my dvd player just so cheap it's not going to play any of the dvds i burn?

Okay, i downloaded the movie from limewire (don't know if that helps with anything lol) and then since i didn't have a dvd burning program except for windows media player, someone suggested i use DivX and so that's what i used. And i don't know how to find out the file type because i tried to open it and it opened on my windows media player and and all it would tell me is what kinda codec it is (it's a MPEG LAYER-3 codec i guess) And on my computer it says the file system is CDFS.....whatever that means.

Sorry i'm not very good at finding this stuff. I'm pretty computer illeterate at the moment O_o

I read your question two times! Now let us start one by one
(1) You found that you records in DVD-ROM. This format only Computer can play- No DVD Player can play this format. There is
DVD-RAM this format only Panasonic player can play. So your recording soft were need to be change.
Some advised you for DIVX- Now reading to the specifications of your DVD Player it is not capable to play DIVX.
Note: All the DVD players are not capable to play DIVX. DiVX is a soft were that compressed the video signal and so that you cab burn three to four movies on single disk but picture quality is still a digital.
So looking to this both reasons eighter you need to buy a DVD player that capable to plays DIVX-Or you need to down load the different DVD burn software. I have try ed NERO program. I have down load from the NERO free ( for one month) so try this soft were burn the disk and try on your DVD player. If it works you don't have to go for any other things.

only DivX capable dvd players can play DivX dvd/cd's.. yours doesn't... DivX is to DVD what MP3 is to CD... you'll have to burn a DVD that's a proper DVD and not a DivX or buy a DivX capable DVD player
