Pilates & yoga help... they stretch out the muscles making them longer & leaner... skip doing squats and leg press exercises; those will bulk up the leg muscles.

Yoga and pilates is a very good advice as it strengthens auxiliary muscles and nerves and give a slim appearance to the whole body.

If you want to work out your thighs at the gym, don't do heavy weights or squats as those are intended to build muscle.
What you have to do, since your thighs are not fat but muscular, is to trim them, burn the muscle down.
With very little weight, do 5 or 6 sets with as many repetitions as you can, until you feel your thighs burn.

Also, try and built a bit more your upper body. That will give you an even and very attractive appearance and it should be easy since you already have an athletic body.

Anything to make you move and burn fat. Aerobic classes, swimming, biking, dancing, anything to make you move and sweat, tae bo, kickboxing, things that get your heart rate up for 30 minutes or more. If they're firm you're doing great, be proud of them.

Whatever you do, don't do squats! Running and other aerobic activities might help.
