Was he some sort of chicken, or did he have some speacial talent for talking his way out of everything.

Matthew 4:1

1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'[a]"

5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written:
" 'He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'[b]"

7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'[c]"

What a cop out

He was overcoming SIN!! if you read WHY Jesus was tempted you would understand. it proves His holiness. Why would Jesus do anything that Satan told Him to?? It would only have meant He was weak. Jesus was fasting, and Satan was telling Him to eat and break the fast. So Jesus told Him, "Hey man I dont need bread, I am filled with the Word of God". (in so many terms) and then Satan tells Him to commit a suicidal act, because Jesus wouldn't be harmed. So Jesus tells him "Dont test Me" because Jesus knew that Judgement was far worse to come for Satan. If jesus is our example, why would He do that? especially as an example for the weary and depressed...He would only be saying that suicide was ok as long as you are godly.

Jesus was not a stupid man, he new he was a physical being, he new if he jumped he would have been killed. That's what the devil wanted because he even new Jesus would have died. The devil is a spiritual being just like God is, he cannot do physical things on earth he was simply hoping that Jesus would worship him instead of God.

Except u left out at verse 11, it says " Then the Devil left him, and look! angels came and ministered to him."

Also at John 14; 30 " I shall not speak much with u anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me"

Jesus did exactly what he needed to do, he relied on scripture and his perfect love for God to resist Satan's taunts even in a weakend physical state.

That proves that Jesus was a man just like us--he had to be tempted and tested. He did prove something to Satan that day---He proved that he was sinless and the Son of God. In the flesh, we would always feel we would have to prove something to someone to shut them up--but that's not what God wants us to do. So yes!!! He proved something very significant.

Had Jesus tried, he would have made the stones to bread and had angels lift him up, but by doing so, the Devil would have won. By denying to do so, he beat the Devil at his own game. He resisted temptation.

He proved satan wrong through the word/His word...I told yall ignorance is not bliss.....He didn't have to prove anything to anyone. The point of all that was to show us how we're suppose to address satan when he tries to tempt us. What a cop out for you to try to use those scriptures to prove something when you couldn't. You see satan couldn't make Christ sin, so he had to leave Him alone.

Satan is immaterial, evil is just a force, matter, will never die, it can only achieved Change, energy can never die it can only achieved changes. Jesus was physical and not only material, can I put this to you in another way?, God can't destroy an energy he can only try to change it, though the World is were Satan hide out, as well behind ignorance and inferiority's????????, and Jesus nor God can destroy it. without our Human comprehension and understanding.

Jesus overcame satan and got victory over him by HIS actions. He has set an example for us to follow. He has taught that we have to overcome satan with the WORD of GOD. Please read the above text carefully. He would have stood against by quoting and believing the WORD of GOD. We also are expected to know and understand the WORD of GOD and overcome satan.

GOd Bless
Edwin.

There was nothing to "prove." Satan was tempting Jesus and he replied by quoting God's Word. He proved his loyalty. What would rather have, Jesus making a giant stack of pancakes?

Satan was the examiner. Do you think a examiner is wrong or devil? Hate is not Jesus want us to do.
