Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Not celebrating one day but all the others holidays of pagan orgin makes no difference.
The true believers kept the feast written in the scriptures. Do you think when the Savior returns he will be following Easter Bunnies? No, but will you be following him to the Passover Feast? You should be observing these Feast days now to prove your belief, not your disbelief in the written word.

My grandmother never let us do Halloween either. We were always the kids that didn't have any candy, the ones that always got teased because our family was "weird", never got to go to the school carnival with everyone else, yeah, I hated it......I allow my children to do Halloween because I am secure enough in my faith to know that it is just a night for my daughter to dress up like barbie and my son to be yu gi oh, a night for them to run around and get candy from friends and family and that it has NOTHING to do with Satan or devil worship. I think if you looked into the original meaning of Halloween you would be surprised at what you find....I make sure my kids know that it's just a night of fun and that it really doesn't have any meaning at all.........

Halloween started centuries ago to honor the people who have died, thus going to cemetaries to hold vigils. Over many years and across oceans, this tradition evolved into something more gruesome, trying to keep up with the aspect of the deceased. Like everything else, it has been Americanized. In other countries it is not celebrated the way in which we do, but in more of its original form, which is actually a spiritual, wholesome event. But not letting your children partake is not necessary, there are ways of explaning to your children the real meaning so they can get something positive out of it. My children have so much fun dressing up, they don't relate it to anything evil. Remember how much impact as a parent you have on your children, and what you teach them about halloween is what will probably stick with them over the years. As a Christian, try to get the positive out of it rather than the negative.

Every Christian is different as to whether they celebrate Halloween or not. Some do, some don't.
I see nothing wrong with you (or any Christian) not celebrating Halloween. Quite frankly, more people shouldn't. It has become a holiday of greed and money. The kids end up getting sick or getting cavities from the candy.
I used to celebrate Halloween when I was a kid, but I didn't really like it. I stopped eventually. I don't celebrate it now as an adult.

That's not fair. It's just a da-da holiday that doesn't really have anything to do with religion nowadays. I love Halloween. My Grandparents themselves used to pass out apples or popcorn balls which is more healthy then candy.

No holidays originates with God so it's not just halloween. It's not just about halloween it's that every holiday is a LIE. So why celebrate any. Be thankful for every day you have. Celebrate every day not just certain days a year

As an atheist, I wouldn't dream of letting my kids miss out on Christmas and Easter. Halloween is just a holiday, pagan in origin but commercialized like the rest of them. Your kids are missing out on a lot of fun.

True Christians have nothing to do with Halloween and its pagan origins no matter how much "fun" it is for the kiddies.

It's a harmless day of fun. I don't know anyone who ever got possessed because they dressed up and went trick or treating or to a costume party. Lighten up and have fun. There's nothing wrong with having fun and it will give your kids lots of fun memories. Don't see Satan behind every corner and the world will be a more delightful place.

My husband and I are actually throwing a Halloween party in our apartment complex to reach out to the kids. We have put limitations on it, like no scary costumes. We are going to present the gospel to them, and some might even come to Christ. We don't do it for ourselves, but we know the tremendous impact this could have on the lives of these kids. I know another church planter that did an easter egg hunt and barbecue after at his church. The traditions that come out of Easter, not the ressurection, but coloring eggs, baskets, are just as pagan, but it was used as an outreach to the community.
The great thing is that God can still use them for His glory. Romans 8:28- and beleivers love God so He can still be glorified on that day. On other years, I have passed out neat gospel tracts for the kids with candy or Jesus loves you bracelets and stickers. The majority of both might get thrown away, but God has left it to beleivers to plant seeds and He makes them grow.
I think back to what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 8. We have one Lord and we know who that is. I don't participate in any holiday to offend God, but to bring Him glory. What we think of other beleivers does not matter to God, because we cannot see their heart on the matter and we have our own sins to deal with.

I just want to add that I am a true beleiver. I take part in this holiday to share Christ with children and give God glory. Every day is the Lord's and we need to bring honor and glory to Him everyday. Even on a day that originates from pagan origins, because it was God's day long before it was pagan. God alone sees a believer's heart.
You incinuating that someone is not a true Christian if they participate in this holiday at all is wrong. I know many other believers that offer fall festivals on Halloween as a safe alternative for the kids. Not to mention they get to hear the gospel. They are TRUE believers. They take every opportunity in every situation to share Christ. I believe it was Paul that said I have become all things to all people. Doing things like this don't make me stumble in my walk with Christ. In fact, they make my walk stronger. I know that God is pleased when we honor Him in any situation and circumstance and despite the day.
