I couldn't think of 25 but I did get 10. Hope this helps.
1. Money - a nice nest egg is good.
2. Picture Frames - They are cheap and you will want lots of them.
3. Kitchen Gadets - From Blenders to Pasta Makers it's nice to have them even if you don't use them all the time.
4. Gift Cards - Again like money it's good to have and it let's people think that they are giving you more than just money.
5. Bedding Sets - They get expensive and it is good to have spares.
6. Bathroom Set - Having a nice matching bathroom just looks good.
7. Artwork - This one is subjective to your tastes. Make a wish list on sites like Art.com so you don't get anything tacky.
8. Power Tools - This is nice and they can be pricy. Makes the groom think he has got something out of it.
9. China - You'll probably never eat on it but it's nice to own for decoration.
10. Big Ticket Items - Refridgerator, Stove, Car, Land, etc. This you may not want to or can put on a registry but you never know if you have a rich relative or a group of friends who pool their money together.

I got married on that same Saturday, last year. It's a great date! We had been living together for awhile, so we had a bunch of stuff too. We ended up registering for a lot of bedroom things, like 400 thread count sheets, blankets, a down comforter. And bathroom things, like very soft, luxurious towels. Even though you probably have some of these things, you may not buy the really high quality items on your own.

You shouldn't be ASKING for anything! People bring gifts because they want to give something to the couple, not because they are requested to do so.
Actually, the top 25 things you need when you first get married have nothing to do with material things, whatsoever. The list begins with a sense of humour, honesty, understanding, etc..

You will need small appliances, like a toaster, blender, mixer and such. You could also register for sheets, pillows, table linens, towels (bath and dish), home decorations (picture frames, candles, etc), silverware, china and crystal (if you like that sort of thing). When you register, the clerk will help you determine the items to request. Good Luck!

Make sure you put fun things and also things to keep on the list as well as practical. Not everyone wants to buy linen, towels etc. What about some games, eg Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, etc. Vases, ornaments etc.

Love, patience, a sense of humour, joy...
For something different from a normal type of gift registry: camping equipment, board games, books (encyclopedia's, atlas, etc.), music, cooking lessons for 2, fitness club memberships.
Talk to your parents and maid of honour/best man. It's them who will advise any guests who ask what you would like.

Most stores have bridal registries. They will either give you a scanner or walk with you. As you look at things in the store you would like, you scan it. Then, tell people were you are registered and they will take it from there.

towels, towels, and more towels, you can never have too many towels. Also, extra sheets would be good too. Pots and Pans. 2 sets of utensils, nice ones for when you have company, and then the regular kind you would use daily. A vacuum!!!
