Yahoo still has a shitty messenger for Linux. There is no place to actually complain about that, and yahoo doesn't bother about linux users either. Why does yahoo keeps a step brotherly attitude towards Linux?

Dude, why would yahoo care about you me and the other 100 people using Linux? At least we get a messenger unlike BSD... if we are treated as step-brothers then imagine how do the 10 lost souls using BSD feel?

Alright geeky joke... I know. I dumped ymessenger back when I was using Red Hat 9 and switched to gaim. Sure we do not get the fancy music/video shiny things that everyone else gets but at least we do not get viruses and trojans.

It's all a numbers gaim, there are simply not enough of us out there and the ones that are do not use yahoo as much.

We use google for search, run our own email servers and use slashdot for news.

Only thing that is keeping linux alive is its users. And lets face it linux isn't very userfriendly like windows thus why there isn't alot of Games/Software made for it. For that reason people take matters in there own hands and developing there own. For yahoo messanger try Gaim. Don't get me wrong I think linux is a very cool operating system especialy its security and control it gives not to mention its open soruce to where re write it.

But I can still not blame yahoo for not wanting to invest in linux/unix. Besides all the differnt distros make it harder to program software for it. Microsoft knows this and has made it very easy for programmers by making developer tools and making it part of thier OS to be developer friendly. Not to mention making it worth developing on it by its it large marketshare.

Because there is no way to develop for Linux in general. You have to be aware of differences between distributions and between different windowing environments. Also, Yahoo! prefers BSD over Linux...

All about the profit, althought linux users have been getting bigger, but still a small number compared to Windows Users, or even Mac users.
