this world is getting more and more messed up every day.... and sometimes I think that it might be kind of... selfish to bring a child into it to have to grow up in these conditions that just continue to get worse and worse. But I love children and I really do want one. What do you think?

The world has always been, and will always be a messed up place. What you don't see so much of on here is all the good stuff in the world because people don't have questions about how wonderful things are. When you have a child you can't control the world, but you can make their life as wonderful and full of love and hope as possible. Don't let the bad side of life dominate your perception of the world, there is still a wonderful life out there for the majority of people.

Yeah the world today is pretty crazy. But I also believe that the children are the future. Which is why it is so important for them to be raised as loving, compassionate, and responsible people.

I say, have a child if you are ready for one. Then teach that child to love others, to respect others, and to be part of the solution to some of the problems in the world today.

Personally, I think raising a child who is kind to others and respectful can make a huge difference. So many people these days are short tempered and don't have any compassion for anyone else. It's sad.

I think there is a particularly large concentration of scary people on Y!A. I have lived in major cities most of my life and until i started using yahoo i never knew there was so much hate, anger, anti this and anti that in the world. But when i go outside, everything still seems more or less the same... beautiful for the most part and full of lovely people.(lots of those same lovely people can be found on yahoo, too.) don't let yahoo scare you from having a child.. the world is a wonderful place.

If you want to raise your child in an idealistic setting and shield them from all the horrors of the world, get your tubes tied now. If you're willing to face the fact that your child will most likely have to endure a lot more dilemmas and evils than you can even fathom, and you're willing to do the work to be at their side to muck through the sludge of the world... well there ya go. Only you can decide.

I have been saying that same exact thing for 20 yrs now. I dont see bringing a child into this world. What will it be like in another 20 yrs ? But then again I never really wanted children either. If you want one then you should have one.

The world has always been a messed up place to live since the beginning of time. If you want children, have them. If nobody had kids because of the condition of the world, we would have been extinct a loooonng time ago.
How can it get any better if we don't try to teach the next generation how to make it better. (although so far we suck at it, but you can't quit trying)

We cannot totally protect our children from the negative influences of today's world. However, your child could be the one that grows up and makes the big difference.

This is just a small percent of the world. Honey have your baby and try to make a difference. Being a parent is wonderful. Teach your child to have respect and morals. It will be fine.

You don't have to read questions here to know the world is messed up. Me and my husband are trying to have a second child. It's how you raise them not where.
