A guy responded to my personals ad. We have a lot in common as listed on our profiles and he comes across as serious and looking for something similiar however he sent me an email (3 times, I guess he accidently pressed the button 3 times) and said he need to ask me if I would show him public displays of affection and by candlelight during a thunderstorm, these are the exact words, some of it doesn't make sense. I guess we are going to be in public with a thunderstorm and a candle or something. Anyway I am weary of him now and want to give him a polite thanks you sounded like a nice guy response but that last question kinda made me weary of you. We haven't even met so how do I know whether or not I am going to be all over him? Yikes, I prefer to meet someone to see if there is any attraction before I start the pda stuff.

What a strange question to ask you. Maybe he thought it was romantic? Seems like he's not the guy for you though. A polite, but firm brush off is what you need. How about: You seem like a nice guy, but I'm just not interested. Good luck.

he's probably making a joke out of your Yahoo Personals preferences.... do you have marked that PDA's, thunderstorms, and candlelight are Turn-Ons or Turn-Offs in your profile?? I think it's just his sense of humor, which doesn't always come across in emails, unfortunately...

But that being said, if you're not feeling like you want anything to do with him anymore, then just tell him that!! It's not like you know each other in person or anything. Or just block him and don't worry about him anymore!

Why can't you just tell him that? If you want to be witty, tell him "it depends on how cute your are" or "only if you've brushed your teeth". Maybe he's just trying to be romanitc, and went about it the wrong way. I thinik giving him an answer that rejects his idea but not him is the way to go.

Try this maybe: "Thank you for your inquiry about dating me. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days and if there is any interest during that time you will be contacted. Good luck in your girl search. Very truly yours,............" ;-)

Tell him that it depends on his ability to make a thunderstorm happen on your date, haa!... But it does sound kind of creepy...be careful.
