Seperation anxiety is the biggest one... dogs never seem to believe that their owner is going to come back, and when they are used to spending all their time with that someone it is hard for them to deal with. I have a rottweiler puppy and I noticed that he started to get worse about me leaving... i could hear him howling and whining well after i had left the house. I also realized that before I left I usually pet him and told him I would be back... in a way I was preparing him for my leaving and it was making him more anxious. Once I started to just ignore him and leave he learned to be quiet- I haven't heard him whine in a few weeks!

the answer is prity simple, they miss u...
Dogs love there owners so much and when you leave they miss u. You could try getting them treat balls (a ball where you put food in it so that they can roll it around and get food) or when you come back give them a treat when they've been good (not been howling)
You may also want to look into where you are leaving them... This can be an idicator if the area is too small for example...

well this is because they miss you they love you your a family right there yours.? therefore they cry when you go out they dont like being left indoors by them selves.
i used to work at a boarding kennels with dogs and cats not i use work mostly with the dogs i'd go down feed them 8am and then clean them out at 8:15am when i was down there they would all be dead quiet in there beds asleep or just do there natural thing or chewing there toys then when i'd finished cleaning them out they'd all be awake and go made and bark howl ... my point im tryin to say is : .... dogs that are left for a period off time howl, they face and feel a impact off danger to them sleves three dogs you say you have there a group right so a group off dogs howl is also a type of bonding experience. we ave a Boader Cross Terrier although she is by herself and only dog she does the same howl's as she feel im in danger etc.. its just a dog thing .. but nothing yo worry about they'll be fine :)

Separation anxiety. It is normal in some. Make sure you do not run back in or stand by the door feeling bad for them. As long as you are not coming back home to torn up stuff they are dealing with it okay.
I adopted both my dogs from shelters and they both went through the separation anxiety. They do not have any problems now. It takes patience and education on the problem. Both mine went through private training lessons and now we go to Doggy Socialization classes to help the newest one. I know it sounds crazy, but she was locked up in a shelter for 18months, and she was only 24 months old! The classes are helping SO much. Look at these articles and see if they can help. Good Luck

I believe that when they howl whenever you leave is because they miss you and want you to come back. My dog does the same thing and when we come back he is so excited and happy that I am back home with him.

because they don't like to be left alone - they get use to your company so much that they howl when you live them. I have a parrot and it dos exactly the some when left alone. Simply give them some squeaky, cuddly toy and some old jumper with your smell on it, so they will fill your presence

Animals sense when those they love and those who care for them and whom they care for are about to leave them. They howl to tell you bye, I'll miss you, or I want to go too!

Your are their pack leader. Do they also follow you around the house, sit outside the bathroom door when you shower, lounge around when you're in the kitchen or living room? You're the leader, and they don't like it when you leave.
