Many cancers originate from a viral infection; this is especially true in animals such as birds, but also in humans, as viruses are responsible for 15% of human cancers worldwide. The main viruses associated with human cancers are human papillomavirus, hepatitis B virus, Epstein-Barr virus, and human T-lymphotropic virus. Even the fish has liver cancer due to poisonous chemicals. Scientists inject pesticides / pharmaceuticals on mice, rabbits and other animals to estimate carcinogenesis.

Absolutely. I had a cat die of cancer. I've had a hedgehog and three mice die of various tumors, although I don't know if they were cancerous or not. I've been told by my vet that I should have by rabbit spayed as about 80% of female rabbits eventually develop uterine cancer. Researchers study cancer in mice, rats, monkeys, and other animals. There are strains of laboratory mice for which virtually every individual mouse will develop a particular type of cancer (they have them for several different types of cancers), and various chemicals that can be used to induce tumorogensis (the formation of tumors) in laboratory animals. I once read a news article about a type of cancer that was decimating a population of tazmanian devils (and that was a wild population, so it's not just domestic animals).

Cancer is caused by cells that grow when they're not supposed to, so any multicellular organism can theoretically develop cancer. And sadly, many animals do.

Yes...it plagues all animals. I was just looking up today that scientist are starting to believe personality may have a link to cancer...they have found this in lab rats and think it may also transfer to humans...please see my resource if your interested!

We lost a dog to cancer. So I suspect that most animals can get cancer. Also, they experiment on mice for cancer treatments, so apparently, mice can get cancer.

Yes - especially dogs, but any animal can. Dogs are more susceptible to human ailments and illnesses because of their physical makeup.
