is zabibu a name and what does it mean.

1. Actually zabibu is a Swahili word, and it means grape [Swahili is a language spoken over a large area of East Africa, and is an official language in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.]

2. I suppose there is nothing to stop it being used as a name, after all Cherry is a name in English. However the internet's best website for African names, Namesite, does not show Zabibu as a name in use.

3. Nevertheless, it does seem to be used as a girl's name, especially in Tanzania. Check these webpages for examples of East Africans called Zabibu (some are internet nicks, but others are actual names, plus one example of a surname). You may need to use the "Find" tool to get to the name quickly.
