It could just be stress, but in case it is a symptom of a heart attack, go get checked out.

A few things could be causing this. I would recommend seeing a doctor though to find out which one applies to you. As far as you and your boy fighting that could have nothing to do with it...you sound like your more self diagnosing and trying to get the stress/heart response subconsciously. With that being said:

1) Could be heart related...blockage, stress heart conditions, etc
2) You could have a heart murmur. I didn't know I had one until I started getting a tightened feeling in my chest when I was 20. Mine causes me pain on and off...sometimes severe pain.
3) It could be a pulled chest/back muscle.

Good luck. See a doc. Hope this helped!

Shortening of breath and chest pain sometimes caused by stress, muscles tightening or like you said here, it can cause when you get upset or emotional tensions! I went to doctor in the past with same types of problem and doctor pointed out that is the reason. But I suggest you to go see a doctor anyways and have them check for you. Hope everything will be ok :-)

im 22 and a mother of two and i started getting the same thing when my relationship went crappy and when my kids are driving me nuts i get them. There are such things as stress related heart conditions.. I also get bad palpultations.. I would say if the pain isnt getting worse, keep track of when you have the pain, is it in a stressful time? if so.. its most likey like, and you need to calm down. it could lead to bad things. Unless it gets worse i wouldnt worry, but if it does id go see your doctor, they can do simple tests, and also more in depth ones. Good luck

It's stress. I have been getting chest pains for 15 years now and it was at its worst when I was married to an abusive husband for 7 years. There were times I thought I was having a heart attack because my arms would tingle I would get dizzy. It was all tightness from stress.
What works for me is forcing myself to take deep, slow breaths, even if the tightness hurts at first. After a few breaths, things loosen up and the body relaxes.

that could be emotionally related angina or ischemia. Since ur only 22, then a heart problem is not a priority consideration. My advice is to take 10-20 deep breaths everytime you experience it. Drink a glass of water. and the next time you fighy with your bf, dont 4get to breath ok. consider ECG too if the pain is recurrent

It could be a number of things. From what you're telling me it sounds stress related. I would definitely go to your doctor and get yourself check out just to be on the safe side.

It is more than likely stress related. However you could have a hyper sensitivity to something you eat or you have been introduced. My best bet would be to go see a professional.

Please see your health care provider. The symptoms may not reflect a serious problem, however anyone with chest pain needs to be examined by a health care provider. I wish you the best.
