do hot golf balls go further than cold golf balls?

If i heat a golf ball before a round will i get more distance?

Yes in theory a warm balls will go further than a cold one. The problem comes in when out in the cold it will start to lose performance quick as it starts to cool. To heat the balls without disturbing the inner core you would want to bring them in the house the night before a round and lay them out. Just keeping them at room temperature on a cold day will make a big difference.

I don't know about heated ones, but in a recent interview Paul Casey from the PGA always carries extra balls in his left pocket so that they don't get as cold as they would in the bag. He claims they hit further when not cold

Yes they do if you heat up your golf balls b4 you go play they will go further but not alot a couple of yards or so!

Yes. If you are playing in cold weather keep the balls in your pocket or switch balls between holes so that you are teeing off with a warm ball.

golf balls do travel farthest when its hot outside. and when the air is dry.

it travles farther because it compresses more. But the distance you would get wouldent equal more then 5 yards. You hit it farther in the heat cause your body loosens up.

so to answer yor question. yes. but not by that much.

Just slightly unless you are having a winter tournament in the snow like we used to do. You have to keep them warm during play with a hand armer in your pocket.
