How can God have these two seemingly opposing aspects? Looking at Nahum 1:2-3 compared to Jon. 3: 16-17 I can so see your point. But when you look at what God says, I am a Jealous and Avenging God. Towards who? The disobedient. Look at who the prophesy was directed against Nineveh. Why? Look back in history and see what wrongs it committed against the Jews. So is God Jealous? He never claimed to be otherwise from Ex. 20:2-6, Deut. 7: 7-11. Rev. 22: 18-19. He is both a God of Love showing those who err the correct path to chose (look at Paul's Life) thereby showing even tho we are proven to be on the Wrong side as long as we repent when shown the folly in continuing And change our heart, soul, and mind towards that of a godly mind, Rom. 1: 18-32. For we are called to Walk by the Spirit Gal. 5: 16-26. And reading on down to Gal 6: 1-2 because we all stumble and fall at times we can be helped. God will not let the unrighteous go unpunished. Knowing who God is allows you to know who God isn't. 2 Tim. 3: 16-17

If there is somebody that you should be scare off, that should be God. God will not leave the GUILTY, unpunished?????, read again your own words, HIS WAY IS THE WHIRLWIND AND THE STORM????, and clouds are the dust of his feet........ if that doesn't tell you anything....., what else you want me to say....., there is not bigger than God, and you should be scare of HIM(God), he will understand, better that you may think about your needs, also you may want to pray and praise HIM a little, and ask HIM for some help????, assistance......, enlightenment...., I hope you don't see any sarcasm, in this but, only sadness in my heart.

The book of Nahum was written to the people of the city of Nineveh in the 7th century. This city was in the Assyrian kingdom which was a world power at that time. The vengeance you pointed out in your question was directed toward Nineveh in a prophecy. God kept his inspired word that he spoke through Nahum. So Nineveh fell around the year 612 BCE.

We can be saved from the wrath of God by the love of God. Satan is His foe and anyone who works under him is His enemy.
But Jesus Christ came and broke the chains of sin that Satan held on everyone, allowing a chance for every single person to come to repentance, following Him and becoming sinless.
Those verses comfort me. If God is for me, who (those foes mentioned) can stand against me??

So what is your point? His justice will prevail. He loves us but can't allow the guilty to go unpunished. The New Testament doesn't contradict this at all. You would know this if you study the Bible. Christ Jesus took the punishment for all who accept Him as their Savior.

You should look closer. The Bible is really just a collection of short stories. Most of the stories have a good intention- i.e. to teach (preach?) something. Of course there are conflicts. This stuff allegedly occurred hundreds/thousands of years ago when only the elite of societies could read or write. The stories have been translated and re-written too many times to count, each time with a new spin.

Sorry honey, but I've got to disagree with you.
This is EXACTLY why Jesus tells us (Christians) to be peaceful with one another. Even with those who hate us.
Because GOD will take care of the revenge part and the wrath part. He's the only one who sees all and knows all so he's got the 411!
This is why I don't believe in the death penalty. We hare human and we make mistakes.

"The lord is slow to anger and great in power."
It takes a great deal to ruffle God's feathers. I sure wouldn't want to be on his hit list. IF you know so many scriptures, then get it together then.
