Ok I assume since you are in the pregnancy part you are either pregnant or think you may be. Ok brown discharge normally without being pregnant is just old blood that is shed from the uterine wall. I actually asked my Ob about it. Now it is very common for some woman to have a discrage and some spotting while they are pregnant. I spotted for the first 3 months of my pregnancy. It was brown in color too. So if ity is time for your period and you normally have a regular period and are now spotting brown then I would get a pregnancy test. The earlier you get prenatal care the better chances of you delivering a healthy baby. Then again it may just be caused from a hormonal change in your body. We often go thru these periods where our bodies change their cycle. I would call and get an appointment with you GYN if you are concerned. First I would take a pregnancy test.

Don't panic...first and foremost. I guess it really depends on whether or not you're pregnant. If you are....it sounds like you could be doing some mild spotting. I experienced that with both of my children...and it was nothing to worry about. Dr. said it was normal. I didn't rush to the ER, I just called my OB and told the nurse what was going on. They diagnosed me over the phone & I didn't need to go in.
If you're not preg and you have brown discharge...probably just means your period is starting. Go with your instinct...if you know that this is totally abnormal for you, then call your doctor. Most of the time they can tell you over the phone if they need you to come in and be seen.
Please...don't think the worse. Chances are it's nothing serious but getting yourself all worked up (especially if you're preg) isn't good for you or the baby.

If you already know you are pregnant, it can indicate the start of a spontaneuos abortion.
If you are not sure if you are pregant, it can be the above or most likely implantation bleeding. This usually only lasts a day.
If you are on the pill and missed one, it can be breakthrough bleeding.
If you had some rough sex, you can have a little brown blood from trauma.
Brown is usually old blood on your period. It happens often towards the end. When there is not enough blood to come out, but it builds up (collects) then comes out, it is brown because of the exposure to oxygen.
Just like when you menstrate an older pad will have a brown blood. Dried blood is brown, so it could be the end or beggining of a period.
Good luck.

I posted a question similar to the earlier and researched it. I have had a brown spotting also, It could be implantation bleeding, it can happen at the time the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, on average between 6 to 12 days past ovulation. You could be pregnant, have you started your cycle? Also, make a Dr apt to get checked
