I have a small tattoo in the center of my back, faling just above my bra strap. Also, I have a small tattoo on my left shoulder blade. I am getting married in the Catholic church. Does anyone have any ideas about dresses that cover these areas? I would like sleeves during the ceremony. Any ideas and links to pictures would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Because I have gotten a lot of comments about being proud of my tattoos instead of covering them, I am going to explain. I am getting married in the Catholic Church. I don't think that during my marriage in the house of God, which is one of the Seven Sacraments, that I should show off the defacement of my body, the creation of God. I am very proud of my tattoos, they mean something to me. However, I am also proud of my breasts, they are gorgeous, and I still wouldn't go to Mass topless. Also, I only wanted to cover my back/shoulders DURING the ceremony, because it is disrespectful to show your shoulders in the Church. Please try to understand.

Actually, you don't need a dress to cover your tattoos ... there is a great makeup concealer called Studio Finish from MAC COSMETICS and you can get the Studio Fix powder/foundation as the top coat to the concealer.

I used to dance for the Cleveland Cavaliers and had to cover up my tattoo on my back. This stuff works like a charm and is guaranteed not to come off. Trust me, if I can make it through 4 hours of pre-game dancing/warm-ups/activities/meet & greets plus a 3-4 hour basketball game sweating my *** off and jumping all around, you will definitely make it through your wedding day.

Here are the links to the makeup ... you will need to pick the color that suits your skin tone.

Is it a winter wedding? I've seen some beautiful gowns with high necklines and long sleeves that completely cover the back - go look at some bridal magazines, there are lots of options! Also, if the tattoos are small enough, you may be able to cover them with flesh-colored patches so that they don't show through the gown.

Check out http://www.davidsbridal.com

They've got a bunch of long-sleeved dresses. They've also got kits in the store that can help you cover tattoos if you decide to go sleeveless.

No your tattoo won't look ugly. I personally don't have any my self but I have lots of friends that do. If it is something you love don't worry about it until the big day comes and you change your mind. It is your choice not anyone elses.

I think the bolero jacket is a very classy, dramatic way to have sleeves during the ceremony, then take it off to loosen up for the reception.

I am not too sure how much you want to spend on your dress but Monique Lhullier has the perfect dress for you!!!
Its a strapless dress but it comes with a little bolero and its so beautiful. There are many different dresses that she has that covers the back and sholders and they are beautiful.... now I must admit your looking to spend about $5000 or so on the dress, but its so worth it. I love my dress, its beautiful.

You may consider a chiffon jacket for the ceremony and then on your reception you can take it off. That way you can have the gown that you always wanted,

Here are some options:
