Your presumption of people of the time being ignorant, is far off the truth.. You are being led by an unwarranted conception of the intelligence of the time. Apparently your knowledge of history has left some important factors out of play.. Would suggest you read a bit about the library of Alexandria and a few of the authors who had volumes there. Don't be misled by the teachings of today which try to belittle the knowledge of the past. As was stated, the loss of that library was considered to be one of the greatest losses to human kind.

One thing which surprises non-Muslims who are examining the book very closely is that the Quran does not appear to them to be what they expected. What they assume is that they have an old book which came fourteen centuries ago from the Arabian desert; and they expect that the book should look something like that - an old book from the desert. And then they find out that it does not resemble what they expected at all. Additionally, one of the first things that some people assume is that because it is an old book which comes from the desert, it should talk about the desert. Well the Quran does talk about the desert - some of its imagery describes the desert; but it also talks about the sea - what it's like to be in a storm on the sea.

1. They weren't. The Bible was written by the first Pope, Constantine, when the Church offered him immense power if he used his immense public speaking skills for them and forsake his Pagan religion.
2. The bible is bashed more because here in America we have more Christians than Muslims, and therefore, we have more anti-Christians.
3. Due to cultural restrictions, those who have read the Koran, are less likely to contradict it.
4. There are more copies of the Bible out there than any other book, which means anyone who can read can pick it up and see the discrepancies and contradictions.

First, show respect to both religions for there is no need to make fun. As a muslim, I beleive in the original Torah, original Bible, and Quran. So please show respect.
Secondly, as you may know already, the Bible as been distored and altered over the years by priests and translators. Saints also altered the Holy Bible by deleting and adding verses at there own desire. As for the Holy Quran, the text and language is the exact same as it was revealed to Prohphet Muhammad (pbuh). So there are no mistakes to be found in the Quran or inconsistencies like that of the Bible.

iam going to answer only for the quran, coz this i know better, quran descended from god to our prophet muhammed (pbuh) it was and still the miracle and message at the same time, it challanged the dis believers in language coz they were known to their distinguishe in litrature, (any miracle come to amessanger it challenges the people of that time so that to believe that it came from god and that person is the messanger)so God has said in the Quran:
And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed (the Quran) to Our worshiper (Muhammad ), then produce a chapter like it, and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides God if you are truthful. And if you do not do it, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones. It has been prepared for disbelievers. And give good news (O Muhammad) to those who believe and do good deeds, that for them are gardens (Paradise) in which rivers flow.... (Quran, 2:23-25)
Ever since the Quran was revealed, fourteen centuries ago, no one has been able to produce a single chapter like the chapters of the Quran in their beauty, eloquence, splendor, wise legislation, true information, true prophecy, and other perfect attributes. Also, note that the smallest chapter in the Quran (Chapter 108) is only ten words, yet no one has ever been able to meet this challenge, then or today.1 Some of the disbelieving Arabs who were enemies of the Prophet Muhammad tried to meet this challenge to prove that Muhammad was not a true prophet, but they failed to do so.2 This failure was despite the fact that the Quran was revealed in their own language and dialect and that the Arabs at the time of Muhammad were a very eloquent people who used to compose beautiful and excellent poetry, still read and appreciated today.
for today also quran has scientific miracles, not only in language,...etc.
as for our prophet is illiterate this is also a miracle , i want to tell u he was descended from the best families in his people , and he has avery fluent tongue the only thing he didn't know was to write or read ,that inorder to make people belive in him coz if he was educated so they will say that it is only litrature or from his education.
as for bible bashed more because unfotunatly islam is hated most.
i wish i gave u afull inf. u needed to know.
NB:we arenot nasty and y u make offended remarks ? i think it u that annoying us now.

Because Christian bashing doesn't lead to
!@#$@% up people called suicide bombers who believe they'll get to heaven if they blow themselves up and kill people doing it! I think that's a good enough reason! But yeah I agree...we should lay off of the Bible bashing...as the quote goes
"I would rather die believing in God and find out he doesnt exist, than die a non believer and find out He's real"

The problem with your question is that the question itself is wrong. The quran was revealed hundreds years after the bible, no ignorant or wise man can live that much time.

I think it seems that way to us because we live in a predominately Christian culture. So the main influence and focal point for us is the bible. If you lived in a predominately Muslim country you would find the discussion shifted in that direction.

It's "bashed" more here because this is an American based website and the majority of Americans are Christian.
