When you become a citizen of any country, they in general want you to speak their language.
The young ones in the school system are taught the language of the country.
You are not displeasing God, that is super you can speak other languages...if you can communicate with them, help them if you can to be more open.
You will get many benefits, (I don't mean money).
Very good question.

Increasingly, English is becoming that language. It's about the most versatile language, if one of the most difficult to learn. Though, actually, the languages we speak -except for Japanese and a few families in that tree- are all Indo-European dialects. That means that modern English, Hellenic Greek, and Hindi are all from the same roots. Trip, huh?

Your in America, you speak English so that the rest of us can understand you.
If I go to another country I think that I would be expected to speak their language so they could understand me.
And no you are not displeasing God, you are learning to communicate with others in the world and learn about their cultures and life.

No, God doesn't want us building things and taking advantage of science and technology.
Don't worry about it - if the fundies have their way in the education system, Babel will never again be a problem...
