For his 17th birthday he said he wants one of those tiny cameras. Something that might fit inside of a Barbie doll or some other children's dolls. He showed me one of his sister's bath-toys to give me an idea of the size. I wonder if it maybe should be waterproof too.

you should get him a night vision camera, i hear that some of them can see through clothing if used during the day.
it should probably be waterproof too, incase of... night swimming.
also, to make your daughter feel like she's not being left out, buy her some sexy underwear or something that girls like these days.

Who will he be spying on? Why does he have to hide a camera? Is your son a soon to be pervert (no disrespect to you the parent)? But these are the questions you need to ask him on why he wants that type of camera, instead of asking if it would be better waterproof.

Cameras that small are only used for spying. Not like he is using it to take his myspace picture or something. IF you want to get it then when we see your kid on the news for molesting small children DO NOT be the parent sitting there going"ohhh he was a good boy" be the one saying I contributed to his freakiness. Your both perveted I fear for the children in your immediate area.

umm i dont think your son needs to be getting a tiny little camera at all...sounds like he wants to use it to spy on other people, particularly children....you should get him some help before he gets caught by the police.
