It is more dependent on the hourly salary than hours. For example, you would be able to work more hours at $6 a hour compared to earning $10 in reaching the earnings limit. However, the main thing is to consult the community college's financial aid office before taking a position.

It is not a matter of hours, it is a matter of wage. How old are you, and where do you live? If you are under 24 in most states, then your parents are actually the people whose finances determine your financial aid. The school and/or FAFSA looks at the parent's tax information and determines the level of need. This is a flawed system, obviously, because a lot of parents do not intend to send their children to college for 5 years. If the parent is actually the person who filed with FAFSA, then you can work any hours you choose.

It all depends, How much did your parents make and how much do you make. You wont lose any money this or next semester. The FASFA uses tax information from the year before. Like for 2006 you actually use tax information for 2005. I made $10, 000 last year, but my mom made roughly $23,000. Since she is a single parent with two children, I got the entire pell grant. If your parents are divorced you use the one who you live with most of the year. Just depends on your situation. Call you finacial aid office and speak with an advisor there.

There isn't a clear cut way to guarantee method to prevent Fin aid from being lower. First off, you shouldn't worry about your fin aid for 06-07 your aid should be secured for now. Regarding to wages for 07-08, I had a student wondered why she didn't receive pell for this year, since no ones income (parent and student) did not receive an increase. There are additional factors that are weighed each year, and the Department of education has the power to change its formula.
