I've done a couple. Some better than others. It totally depends on what resort you go to. All of the all inclusive resorts are diffrent. The best I've been too was in Playa del Carmen called Gran Porto Real. We had a mini suite. It came with a huge jacuzzi tube right in the room, not the bathroom but next to the beds, in front of the TV, beautiful room! Most all inclusive resorts have buffets and then other restaurants where not all the items on the menu are included, but this one did. They had about 3 or 4 diffrent restaurants. Plus they have a 24 hour snack bar, in their all hours recreation room. Not many places have a 24 hour all inclusive snack bar. My husband and I had a great time. The resort was great, it was right on the beach, close to all the little shops, it was great. You don't need to worry about paying for drinks or food, that helps you budget alot. Over all an all inclusive resort is great, you just need to pick the right one that fits your needs and wants. When you do you and your husband will have a blast.

We did not go all inclusive. We bought our own meals, but we had a package for air and resort through Apple Vacations.
My vote is to go to the Island of St. Martin in the French West Indies and stay on Orient Beach. One popular smaller resort on that beach is shown here: http://www.alamanda-resort.com/msie4.htm...
It is a relatively casual resort within a few footsteps of a wonderful beach. The beach is topless but only a half mile walk to a totally nude portion of the beach. Very quiet compared to a lot of beaches, hardly any noise pollution like radios. Lots of couples on honeymoons etc. I went for 10 consecutive nights in late April and Early May and it was FANtasTIC. One of the best times to go they say is November to January or April and May. Avoid July-October cuz of Hurricane season. Another great thing is that St. Martin is only a 2 hour boat trip to St. Barth which is a good side trip. St. martin is half Dutch heritage and half French. The Dutch side is noisy with casinos and the French side is quieter with fine cousine and pristine beaches. A number of airlines fly there including US Air which goes direct from Charlotte. Take passports for sure you will need them. People are very friendly. Rental cars are inexpensive and you can get all inclusive insurance for a small amount.

it is the best way to go--you have plenty to do on and near the resort, everything is included, and any old married couple would have a great time if they want to!

First, go to http://tripadvisor.com for reviews from other travelers about different hotels and resorts.
Then, go to http://Luxe.worldventures.com They search all the other main sites like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, hotel and airline sites and offer you the lowest price. You’ll save even more when you book it as a package like air and hotel together.
