Im a combat veteran of Afghanistan, Operating Enduring Freedom 5, and I do feel sorry for the soldier's in Iraq. If you've never been in a combat zone, it is impossible to describe someones daily life and feelings. The constant thought of missing your loved ones, topped with the overwhelming fear of lingering death and always on the brink of total choas. After losing a year of your life to this time period only to come home to people nonchalantly turning away from you or looking down on you like what you just went through, or watching unknowing people take for granted the smallest details of life that people other value for their daily survival, is at times tough to deal with.

If Breamer hadn't taken over, Iraq could have been a accomplished deal 2 years in the past. he's the subject. BTW, I did no longer see what united states you're from, thats cool tho, you may nicely be ashamed, we comprehend.

The freedom you have to voice your opinion was bought and paid for by the blood of soldiers like those in Iraq. Just because you don't like the President, or think this was the wrong issue to send troops too, is your right and your business.

You can be thankful that smarter, older and wiser people than you over the years, sent troops to places like, France, North Africa, Germany, Spain, Korea, Okinawa, Midway, Tarawa so that you will have the freedom to voice your opinion.

Soldiers do what they are trained to do and follow orders. If this were a perfect world, and we didn't have two bit dictators like Saddam, along with Iran's leader and North Korea, we wouldn't be sending troops in harms way. If we don't, then we can sit back here and wait for them to come to us.

I served in Nam, class of 72. My son is in Iraq for the second tour and yes, I worry about him, but he is an American fighting man, trained by the best, to be the best and he, like so many others, needs your support.

If you hate President Bush, that's your right, but don't hate the soldiers doing their jobs and don't back stab them.

i applaud your soldiers for what they have to do, look to the last 90 years or so of wars that got out of control who's door did they come knocking on yes the good old U.S of A, yet when you were attacked by these lunatics how many of the countries you went in to help came to your side in time of need, France, Germany..... or should i say most of the blasted free world, if your government and military sat back NewYork would not be their last stop you need to look around you and see what your forefathers fought for, thats what your soldiers are out there for, talk about back stabbing dont take it out on the soldiers, if your sorry for them dont call your self a yank..... knob.

Yes!! My brother just last week had to go to Dover, Delaware and bring home the body of a fellow soldier and friend. We buried him yesterday. He left behind 4 wonderful childern and his wife. My brother has been there for one tour and is expected to go again. Here is my question to you, Do you think that this war will really ever solve anything over there? I feel sorry for all soldiers and their families.
Wishing all safe return

Well, yes. I sympathize with anyone out there doing a hard, dirty, dangerous job. Just like listening to my grandfather tell about all his comrades who died in combat during World War 2 makes my heart hurt and listening to my great uncle tell about his time in a German P.O.W. camp and watching another great uncle limp when he walks from the injuries he suffered when his tank was hit.

Do you think the soldiers over there would be having a more fun time if, in your opinion, there was a point?

The soldiers are proud of the work they are doing in Iraq. Your "making daddy proud" shtick is old and tired. I will explain this to you and hopefully you will understand. I know being a liberal gives you a great handicap, but I will try non the less. This is an all volunteer military. Those soldiers, marines, airman, and sailors are where they chose to be. I typed that real slow so you can understand it.

I don't pity them as much as I admire them for their bravery and valour. Iraq is a hellhole to which I would not go even for $800,000 per combat tour. The soldiers don't make anywhere near that amount, in pay and benefits combined. Anyone who is courageous enough to go to the world's worst places, to serve their country is a person who has earned my respect.

Other then they should be home with their family's no I do not feel sorry for them as they volunteered. However fighting an unpopular war for no just cause must bother some of them a lot.
