possibly because they think they are better than other people around them. They definitely don't respect the rules and laws of the counry they are in, and scream discrimination the minute someone suggests they don't need it.

theres difference of opinions amongst the scholars regarding this, some say it is obligatory, using back up from quran and prophetic sunnah while most scholars say it is not obligatory, also using back up for their opinions.

Most women who wear the veil choose to do so out of their own will.

If a woman beutifies her face, then she must cover it, women feel free wearing a veil, and do not feel an item of sociecty.

EDIT: also some women feel it prevents them from being exploited, as has become common of people taking pics of strangers etc

It's a traditional thing, that has been tangled up with the religion. I would imagine it begins as a way to avoid flirtatous behaviour. A 'You never know what you're gonna get if you do/ You might regret this one' knid of thing. Adultery doesn't seem to be a problem for them unlike the western cultures, but then again, they are a very secretive people, and the veil is a fine example of that.

Angels long ago, once raped women according to some legends. The women were so beautiful they did unspeakable acts, so they wear a veil to protect their indentity and beauty.

Now it is used as a submissive object (in some countries), it would be like putting a star on a Jew in WWII--- although not all people believe this could be a view of it- they believe the first story.

Many because they have no choice or there is a lot of social pressure. Others use it as a mark that shows they are "true" Muslims and following even the suggestions of the prophet. It is very visible in the same way some people wear cross necklaces outside of their shirt.

I've heard that in the stricter muslim countries, the claim is that the veil protects the dignity of the women. However, if that were the case, shouldn't muslim men wear a face covering 24/7 as well?

Another of the muslim big lies.

I'm not a Muslim, but I believe that Muslim women wear the veil to appear modest. The veil specifically is not cited by Muslim scholars, but there are codes of modest dress written in the Qu'ran for both men and women.

When out of the home and/or in the company of men they are not related to, female Muslims are supposed to wear modest dress so as not to 'inflame the senses'. Male Muslims have modest dress codes as well, which require a man to be (at least) covered from his waist to his knees. Both sexes are to be bare-footed whilst praying.

These dress codes were intended to protect both men and women from unwanted inappropriate attention from either sex and so they could have clear and pure minds to worship Allah.

The Muslim community is not the only one to have dress codes within their religion. Sikh men are required to wear a turban to tie up their long hair (they are not allowed to cut their hair or beard); married Jewish women are recommended to tie up their hair and wear a headscarf, again for modesty reasons.

God did NOT send his Son to condemn(law) the world... Jn 3:17

His Son would NOT even accuse anyone... Jn 5:45

Judge not according to the appearance,
but judge righteous judgment... Jn 7:24

Righteous Judgment:
neither do I condemn(law) you,
go(learn) and sin(law) no more... Jn 8:3-11

Go learn? Go figure.
Go learn (go figure) what meaneth
"I will have mercy and not sacrifice"... Mt 9:13.

Sin(law) no more? Why not?
Lest latter end be "worse"-end.

Worse-end involves "seven spirits"
(Mt 12:45 ... Rev 1:4; 3:1; 4:5; 5:6)

Name the seven other spirits more WICKED:
1) another LAW (Rom 7) produces concupiscence
2) LAW of the Spirit (Rom 8) in CJ reverse of JC
3) second LAW (Mt 22, Rom 8) both sin & death
4) LAW of God (God on high) not the higher God
5) royal LAW (royal dung)
6) LAW of liberty (liberty to lie and die)
7) perfect LAW of liberty (perfectly free of life)

Thank God "worst" isn't mentioned in the NT.
But "blotting out" of LAW is mentioned in NT.
So it ends with none perish, not with all perish.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Right now, it's probably a bit of a fashion thing.

You know, giving the finger to authority. Like punk hairdos or tatoos or tongue piercings.

Veils are the new punk.

I'm not kidding, by the way. Now that they've been demonised, expect to see a lot more of them.

Remember what happened when Frankie Goes To Hollywood were banned from the BBC?

(Maybe before your time)
