Respect from child to adult is realizing that the parent is older, wiser, and has a place of authority over you. Its deferring all your own reasonings to that of the adult.

Yes, they shouldnt just expect it, they should demand it.

Because children who dont respect their parents, grow into adults who think they have no one to answer to, including the law.

Adults should expect exactly as much respect from children as they give the children. Children learn from parents. If you hurt them, you are teaching them to hurt you and their own children. If you respect them, they will respect you.

Of course I expect respect for my children. I feel like since I work my butt off to care for them than they will at the least respect me. No back talking, greatful, and minding is what I consider respect.

Respect is appreciation and consideration for one another. Yes parents should expect respect from their children. If you do not teach your children how to be and what respect is, they will treat everyone else with disrespect throughout their lives. They won't even know how to respect themselves.

In my opinion if an adult has zero respect for children then they deserve zero respect back. You have to give respect to get it

If parents respect their kids, their kids will respect them... We as parents need to teach them how to respect us as his parents but also to respect each other as brother's and sister's..Also to respect other adults & kids... But it all starts at home, but hey will not respect us because we spank them or scream at them every time they missbehave. The better thing is talk to them they understand and maybe punish them so they can see who is the boss at home that way kids can learn respect & obidience by other ways instead of spanking..... RESPECT should be teach to all adults & kids too!!!

YES, A CHILD SHOULD ALWAYS RESPECT THIER PARENT. IF A CHILD DOES NOT HAVE RESPECT FOR A PARENT HE IS NOT GOING TO LISTEN TO THE PARENT AND THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS DUE TO HE COULD GET HURT. ALSO IT TEACHES THE CHILD TO REPECT HIS ELDERS AND HE'LL CARRY THAT WITH HIM AS HE GROWS OLDER
THAT SHOULD BE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU TEACH A CHILD #1 RESPECT, #2 MANNERS
