There are so many to choose from. This summer I have sampled 54 beers from around the world and have realized there are many different styles of beer. Pilsners, lagers, ales, wheat, dark, white, and all have different characteristics. Some are bitter or malty or hoppy or have hints of fruit or caramel. Here are some of my favourites.

SAIGON-from Vietnam. Very smooth, no aftertaste and extremely refreshing. 5.0%

COOPERS SPARKLING ALE-Australia. This beer does a second fermentation in the bottle. If you tip the bottle over you can see the yeast sediment. When you pour this beer(ensure it has sat still for the sediment to have settled) you pour half the bottle and then swirl the bottle to lift the sediment, then finish pouring. The beer becomes cloudy. 5.8%
The taste is great. Smooth with little or no carbonation.

CALEDONIAN 80-Scotland. A dark beer, not filling, smooth, a bit caramelly, no aftertaste. 4.1%

Try some wheat beers from Germany, they are totally different than American beers.

Cheers

Not sure if this counts, but a brewery in NY imports a beer made in Belgium just for...Ommegang...one of the best beers around. Beyond that, Newcastle Brown followed by Guinness, but not their extra stout, which is almost American in it's hopiness.

McEwan's Scottish Ale. Nice brown ale with hints of chocolate and peat. Good aroma and aftertaste. Tastes best when cool and not ice cold.

2nd choice would be a India Pale Ale served cold on a hot summer day. Really refreshing.
