I think animals like to go somewhere where theres a smell. My dogs always poop in the same place in the garden, and when I let them outside they spend ages sniffing around to find the right place. I think you can buy a spray that encourages animals to poop in a set place, but I dont know what its called.

This sounds weird, but maybe when you clean her box you could leave a pile of her old poop in there? That way it's clean and doesn't smell, which makes you happy and it's a little dirty for her since she seems to like it that way.

Very often it is because of another animal using the same box, however, you did not say if you had more than one pet. Another reason could be medical often times a cat will go out of the box to try to show you that they are having problems with their health. Perhaps you should contact your vet and give them a stool sample to test for parasites or other cat disease.

I have had the identical quandary, however my cat has been doing it for a few months now. I took her to the vet and the whole lot. They stated she is nice. I have no longer modified her muddle or some thing else. I attempted relocating the litterbox out the kitchen and gave her treats while she could cross within the litterbox. That labored for a couple of weeks, however now she has began doing it once more. I desire I would present extra aid, however I am simply as annoyed with my cat!

My cats are the complete opposite. They love a clean litter box and have to "christen" it every time I clean it out. Your cat may have an incontinence problem. Take her to the vet.

Maybe she doesn't like the kind of litter you are using. Try something new. You might also try putting the cat box in a new place. But I would definitely be smacking that cat if it did it's business on my table!

cats sence of smell is very strong and because most litter contains odors that are unfamiliar to that of your cats feces the trace of smell left in the other places is not covered up so it see's that as its potential litter box you will want to eliminate ALL odors from these areas and possibly switch to a different type of litter
