He's in alot of my classes. And i talk to him sometimes but when it comes to girls he's really shy, or when he's around me he's really shy

talk to him alone and keep things between you 2, just between u 2. he may be shy to other people's opinions, so if your alone with him, the only opinion that counts is your's

If you two are shy then it is easy to get together because he will be alone and not approached by many people and you can go and talk to him. Remember since he is shy, he won't ask you out, you have to that. Just tell him you are interested.

I say take the bull by the horns and ask him. Suggest going to the cinema, just ask him outright when there's not too many others around.
'Cos it would be a shame if shyness stopped two people getting together.

that's a tricky situation! perhaps ask a not so shy friend to organise a blind date with you two and a partner for her that way they can do the talking and you two have managed to make the first step
