As much as Muslims say their religion is one of peace and attack those who criticize their religion(or even say something unbiased about it) by calling them "haters", the truth is Islam is very much a hateful religion. There, I've said it.

I've talked to a few former Muslims who converted to Christianity(and one who converted to Judaism) and they all say the same thing... the Muslim psyche is such that deep down, they fear examining their religion compared to others not out of fear of Allah, but because they feel it is somewhat inadequate. Very much an inferiority complex.

My husband was born in the region. He says that here in America, people are born and raised to love each other and to be respectful of each others' differences (which happens more often than not - we just see the bad ones). But in that region of the world, children are brought up to hate - especially Jews, but really anyone who does not conform to their idea of what God would have us be. My husband says he knows the reasons behind this attitude, but does not condone them, nor does he understand them.
