I invite them in, and I felt a connection with them, not as in beliefs, but as people who experince the same trials and tribulations.
THey started talking, and after a while, I realized that I was a witness. A witness of how it is all the same. She said something like do unto others, or it will come back to you, and I said oh yeah I call that Karma, and then she said something else, and I said oh yeah heaven is a way of conciousness. After a while she realized that although I was not the same belief, she knew I still understood the message.
I guess some try to convert you, she didnt she was very respectful of my Janis Joplin poster on the wall.

I would ask them why they go from door to door when we have our own beliefs.
But be friendly they are humans like us.

I let them in once . They really don't care if you already go to church and believe in God. They just wanted to convert me. I just stopped answering the door . After that I was at the grocery store and saw them and they gave me the booklets. Then I was picking my son up from the daycare center and there they were again more booklets . I was walking form the store in my sisters neighborhood they were driving down the street and pulled over and were talking again ,more booklets. I haven't seen them for a while , but it seems like I can't go anywhere without seeing those ladies.

I would debate with them. It's not enough to simply slam the door in their face. Half of my family are Jehovah Witnesses and I don't agree with their religion. They put religion over family and it's not right. God comes first but not a man-made religion. Also, if you research their religion, there are a lot of kooky things like how their leaders predicted the end of the world 3 times and then tried to backtrack when the predicted dates came and went.

They are in a nationwide campaign. A second couple in two days just came by with their leaflet. I had taken the time to read it earlier so was ready with a question on their doctrine of the unconscious dead. She had to call in a back-up. They could give me no Scriptural support on-the-spot but wanted to come back for discussion(brain-washing). I was polite and offered to read anything they could provide on the subject, as long as it was Scripturally-based. If I had had more time, I would have liked to have shown them the references to Jesus in Revelation 1 as being God incarnate, who died and was alive again. That always leaves them speechless.

I have varied from polite "not interested" to shutting the door in their face to telling them to take their poison down the road to someone stupid or vulnerable enough to buy into it. All depends on their attitude, respect for my polite refusal and deceptiveness. Yes, some are deceptive and manipulative, using neighborly, folksy conversation before identifying themselves and their agenda or using their children as foils - seen it many times.

Tell them you are a christian and invite them to come in so you can explain why Christianity is the absolute right way.
Most of the time they'll give you a Watchtower paper and politely decline to come in.....then leave at a gallop.

"Thank you, we already know Jesus Christ, and are Christians."
If they become preachy, if I'm feeling up to it I preach back. If not, I say, "Thank you for the Watchtower and the Awake!, and we'll let you know if we need anything, thanks."
That tends to end it right there. I might flip through the WT or the A!, if there's anything of interest in there, then toss it or give it to my husband's cousin (who is also a JW).

The last time two came to my door (little old lady and little old man) it was Jan. and very cold. The lady didn't have gloves and was shaking so I insisted she take a pair of my gloves. I took their material and was kind to them, but told them I was an atheist and it was unlikely to change my mind.
Life is short. Might as well be kind.

I usually ask them in and sit down to have a friendly bible chat. When they catch on that the bible is not something I am stupid on and that many of their teachings can be proven against the bible, they usually pack up politely and go.

I was painting my uncles house when they ask to speak to the owner. I told them he was out back. They would not go and kept trying to talk to me. I told them I did not live there, but they kept talking. I asked them to leave and they would not. I told them I come down off the ladder, I would beat the s**t out of them. They ran away.

Ive had that problem to they talking a whole bunch of bull sh*t they don't understand. They don't understand you need Jesus first to receive the holy spirit. Its impossible to serve god in this flesh, they don't even have the holy ghost. You need that to get in heaven.
