why is it that men are so selfish and wrapped up in themselves?? im finding it so hard to get my ex to see our daughter and to pay maintenance!!

Yes, there are good men out there. I married one. You will find one when you least expect it and if he is really good he will love you and your daughter and support you both. Hang in there. I am sorry some guys are just so wrapped up in themselves....keep looking there are good ones to be found, but sometimes you have to turn over a lot of rocks first.

I have morals and I care about people. In my situation we went through a bad Divorce. So, I not see my son, but, I do pay money and not because the courts told me too. I love my son, and hope one day he go looking for me, as many have said he will that had this problem when they were children. My family and friends know my heart and they know I am a good man and they know the truth of my situation. But, I know my ex centers around her self, so, money is what she want and she will use it. I was putting the money into Stocks for my son, now the money will just get spent. But, that OK, I have setup a Trust Fund and NO ONE can touch it!! Unless our sorry court system say different! Because they not care about the people, only what they can do to tear us down economically using unlimited tax payer resources. So, it is a two way street, women can be just as bad. OK, enough said, as this touches on a sad place in my heart. :-(

i have the same issue with my daughter's biological father, he's a total deadbeat. but good guys are out there, it's rare, but they do exist. now i have an amazing man i'm going to marry, and he's 10 times more the husband and father than my ex could ever think about being. hope things get better for you!

It's disturbing, isn't it? I don't know why so many are that way, but I suspect the generally accepted way of raising children 20 years ago is wrong and now we pay for it with selfish people (not just men).
P.S.- Child-like does not necessarily mean 'selfish'; therein lies proof of my theory...

Yes there is...I feel sorry for men that are all lumped together and its usually in the loser catagory. Have the courts collect maintenance payments for you. They can make life pretty miserable for not paying support payments...as for him seeing your child...she's probably better off not seeing him, and stressing her out when he keeps disappearing from her life.

i am sure that there are decent guys out there. don't push him to see her. but if i were you i would absolutely go through your local DHR and get your child support set up. He helped create your little girl so now he should help support her. just love her as much as you have been and be there for her. when she gets older and looks back she will see who was the real parent. she will see who loves her.

Yeah theyre out there, theres not many. You're just looking in the wrong places.
I found a nice guy who delivers mail in my area. You know the USPS screens them and does back ground checks before they hire.... if you ge them young they havent cracked from the pressure yet.. :)

Good luck finding one who will take responsibilty for his kids. I find in America now too many men are lacking in that area

there out there i was lucky enough to find mine i am sure you will too. just don't give up. tell your ex that you can sue for child support and you are making it easy on him but if he does not stop what he is doing and start giving you what you need you will sue. good luck
