Sorry, not KFC and that sort of thing.
I want a good restaurant that will be up to Lady M's exacting standards, please.

go to Eccleshall Road - loads of places to eat from cofee bars to nice restaurants, alternatively try Crosspool, quite a few small family owned with excellent food.

There's a very good all you can eat chinese near The Crucible called Jumbo. Very tasty! There is also a little Tai Restaurant called Bahn Nai on Nile Street (Broomhill) and rather nice looking Tapas Bar on West Street called La Mancha.

The Blue Room (various) on Abbeydale Road is nice or Rossi's (Italian) on Sharrow lane just off London Road. There are website's for both of these restaurants which details menu's. Good luck!
