Basically contempt of court means not doing whatever the court ordered you to do. If they ordered you to pay child support and you didn't pay it then you are in contempt of court. It can be corrected by paying the child support and possibly serving some jail time.....whatever the judge sees as fit punishment for violating their order.

Contempt of court can be serveral things. Basically anothing done against a judge's order can be contempt. In a child support case it like menas the noncustodial parent is in comtempt for failing to pay. To correct it the amount set by a judge must be paid so the noncustodial parent can be arrested unitl he/she can be seen by a judge to explain why support has not been paid.

Generally, contempt of court means you are not doing what the court told you to do, i.e. not paying child support. To correct it, do what you are supposed to do, like pay your child support.

Not following the decree made by the court in either the amount and regularity of payments to be made. Varying from agreed upon visitation rights. Not supplying certain medical coverage or paying of medical bills if agreed to in decree. They can only be remedied by getting current with the agreement or going back to court to get the decree modified.
