I am not concerned at all about the pace. I dont care if she runs at 13 min per mile, as long as she completes the run. Currently, she does one mile at 10:58. She has been on vacation for 2 weeks and when she got back, she expressed interest in the 5k coming up on Thanksgiving. So she is gonna do it!!
Just wondering if anyone had any feedback.
Thanks!

yes you probably can, but it depends on how far her runs have been at this point. WWW.runnersworld.com has a great smart coach program that you can enter your stats in and get a training program. 5 weeks is a short time to train but you should be able to do it if you have been running.

Yes. You can train for a 5k in 5 weeks. It's 3 miles. during the week work on interval training and speed work outs. Save the longer run for the weekend. Keep the week before the race light. Look into some websites that can show you a good training routine.

Sure can. I am sure there are sevaral plans available on the net to do this. I was only running 1 mile everyday and within 2 months of prep, I ran 5K in 23 min.

Make sure she runs 5 days a week, strength trains and does intervels.

A 5k is only 3.1 miles. You don't need that much training. 5 weeks is more than enough time to train. Start with intervals - walk/run and gradually decrease the walk time and increase the run time.

Sure you can. I did it in four weeks. It is not easy however, it is a lot of hard work. Forget friends for that week except if they are your buddy trainers. You need lots of rest after your training and you have to eat properly. You can do it! You have one week more than me and I did ten k not 5.

If she practices hard, she could be able to.
