I like the sequencer in Cakewalk okay. Then there are Sibelius and Finale -- of which I think Sibelius is definitely superior.

I'd recommend going to http://www.pgmusic.com and checking out the alternatives on their pages. I think their software is the best all-around stuff (and inexpensive, as well), that you could buy...
