Tea tree oil repels them, unless they are drowned.
It also depletes the dog of the oils that keep the skin supple, so it isn't a great way to keep bugs off on a daily basis, it will dry the skin and make it peel, which will make your dog scratch more and maybe cause irritations.

Tea tree oil is good for repelling fleas and ticks, it very well may kill them too, not too sure on that, but the amount you would need to kill them would be harmful to the dog. Tea tree oil is toxic if ingested, to all living creatures.

Tea tree oil is known to be poisons to dogs. It might not kill the dog but will certainly harm it. Use frontline or Advantax, for flea control.

it does not kill fleas or ticks but i wouldn't put tea tree oil on my dog, but i do sometimes use a dog tea tree shampoo fleas and ticks dont like the smell so it only rep ells them

Tea Tree Oil is toxic to dogs. Do not put this on or give to your dog.

It will deter them, but I don't think it will kill them.

There are some reports of it being toxic to cats, however.

it may but its lethal to humans and animals. go to the vet and get something made for use on animals.
