If you have a flight number, you can go to:

and check the flight path.

The route maps thatyou see in the airline's monthly magazine have nothing to do with the actual routes of flight that a particular flight may take. The routes of flight will be predetermined by air traffic control and prevailing weather conditons for the day.

For example, there are daily flights that depart Chicago O'Hare for both Frankfurt (EDDF) and to Munchen (EDDM). For the most part, these two flights will fly the exact same routes all the way until each flights reaches it's first waypoint in it's arrival procedure. There may slight variations if the two aircraft are operated by two different airlines but you get the point.

I fly alot and many times have flown from Munchen. In my experience, both Frankfurt and Munchen flights go N. over Greenland and Canada about equally. Are you sure that the US destination is the same in your comparison? It could be that a particular flight doesn't go north--however both originating cities send planes the N route equally to my knowlege.

They, like most other airlines nowadays fly through the sky to most destinations.
