I am 15 years old and I like this guy who is going to be 18 in January...My parents think that he is WAY too old and they wont let me "date" him. The only real problem that we have in seeing each other is im BEST FRIENDS with his sister...she wanted me to spend the night with her at her house. Since her brother would be there they think it would be "Irresponceable for them as parents to let me go for the night" I think that they need to let me go and give me my space. What do you think??

First of all, u r 15 and yes u should be given some amount space but too much space to do your own thing can be bad for you. In Jamaica they say that if you give a man enough rope, he'll hang himself. Anyway, about the boyfriend he's not too old. That is just three yrs and for me age is nothing but a silly number. He may seem pretty old now b'cuz u guys r young, but look at it in another couple of years. When u r 30, he's 33. That isn't so bad is it? Be good now.

I think that they are your parents and you need to live by their rules until you are a legal adult. I am glad to see there are still parents out there who tell their kids no and put there foot down. Too much can happen if you spend the night with your friend who also has the brother you like. Your parents are not stupid, so quit playing them like they are.

hey this age gap worked for my sister, howeve i think your parents could be right about not letting you sleep round his, even though it may be his sister you are going to see. They need time to adjust to you and him seeing each other first for a while, then start showing them you are responsible enough to sleep in the same house as him, r go round when he is out.

Irresponsible***...and I am a sophomore in high school and I happen to agree with your parents. You are at a point in your life where you are going to disagree with your parents, but once you get to where I am, you'll realize that they are the best givers of advice.
