I'm 18(girl).I've been living with a friend of mine(she is 29) for a few years already. She has a 6-month-old baby.I finished school and I take the care of the baby, while she is at work. When the baby was born(because of the missing father),my friend had to choose someone who will eventually be the guardian of her child in case something happes to her(fbi agent). She picked meTwo days ago, she(having a case from fbi to work on) had to go and check(I won't explain what). She decided to take the baby with her(the most stupid decision in my opinion) because I wasn't at the town. She met 'bad' people and without her know, someone had put a drug in her drink.Police found them and she couldn't prove she worked for the fbi(she was on drugs).CPS took the baby and yesterday gave me the guardianship. It is taken from her for 3 months. We live togeher but as a guardian,I shouldn't leave the child alone with her(as I was explained by CPS).I don't want to hurt her,she is my best friend. What should I do?

Your friend chose you because she believed you would act in the best interest of the child. That is your first and most important priority. Your friend may be a good mother, but made a very poor decision in taking her child into a dangerous situation.

Sit down with her and explain that you took the responsibility of guardianship seriously. Explain that you love her and enjoy your friendship, but your duty is to the baby. Go through the guidelines set down by CPS and tell her that you will follow them to the letter to assure the well-being of the child.

Now...I question the honesty of your friend. FBI agents do not take their children on assignments. Agents are also in the system and easily identified via fingerprints. You are the one that knows your friend the best, but the information you gave here sounds suspicious.

Good luck to you and the baby.

Arent you underage to be a legal guardian? How come she couldnt proove shes and FBI agent? Thats strange they would not check up on that properly.
Why the heck did she drink ANYTHING when on duty? Not to swift of an FBI agent she should have paid more attention in training.
So they take the baby away for 3 months and give her to you knowing that you all live together?
Im sorry you left out alot of details, in any case keep the baby shes going to see it any way and care for it if you live together.
What is she supposed to do for 3 months?

This sounds real complicated and a little strange. SHE needs to hire a good lawyer. This doesn't seem right that an FBI agent would lose a kid after not being able to prove to police she is an FBI agent. Something just doesn't sound right.

Do what you have to do by law to keep the child so that she can see the child at least. If she is not understanding of that then she doesn't have her childs best interest at heart
