I suppose St Martin in the Fields would be a good candidate, but also consider the Westminster Choir.

London Voices is also a good candidate or the Gay Mens Chorus but (as the title suggests) you would have to be a gay man to join in.
All of the others I could name are professional and not that well renowned

There's only one that's truly well-known (as a result of many TV appearances over the years and touring) - it's the London Community Gospel Choir. http://www.lcgc.org.uk/
